Four & Five Year-Olds Blended Program (Pre-K)
Children enrolling in the 4/5 year-old blended class must be 4 before October 1, 2009, and must be toilet-trained.
The curriculum for the Pre-K Program is a rich learning environment that uses themed units to engage the children in learning concept and skills need to be successful in Kindergarten. We offer learning areas that provide the children opportunities to grow socially, while engaging with other students and adults and exploring art, math, language, writing, science, life skills, sensory experiences, blocks, books and dramatic play.
The children will be involved in individual, small and large group work. The students will develop and gain experience in all the development areas: Cognitive, Motor, Social and Emotional, Adaptive and Communication.
The 4/5 year old class will participate with the 3/4 year old students in an introduction to Spanish class, led by Mrs. Partin, every Wednesday morning. The two classes will also attend Chapel with Pastor Johnson of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, every other Friday morning. We implement a Christian-based curriculum, established by the Lutheran Concordia Publishing, with weekly Bible stories, songs and daily prayer.
