Class Star is a special event for the children in their class. The Star of the Week is featured on our star poster with snapshots from home. Plus, the star of the week is responsible for bringing morning snack for the complete week of their class. In this instance they also are the snack helper and get to help set up and serve morning snack to their class.
After the initial visit from the state inspector of licensing we were informed that all snacks provided by our Star of the Week, must be pre-packaged foods brought from the grocery. It is not within the compliance of the state to have foods brought in for our morning snack that have been prepared in personal homes. All snacks brought in by our Star of the week must be pre-packaged foods brought in the same packages brought from the store. This is a health and safety issue to protect the children and to stay within the compliance of our state regulations. Also, snack for the Star of the Week must be brought in the Friday before their scheduled week so that it will allow the time for us to inventory the snacks for the week and have them posted in the classrooms (We will provide refrigeration). Our morning snack menu must be posted in the classrooms in order to comply with state regulations.
